When using the Fera.ai Social Proof App, you may have come across "triggers and conditions" and probably thought to yourself..."what are these used for?"
Keep reading to see why you should be using triggers and conditions and how they can increase your store's performance.
What are triggers and conditions?
Display conditions are settings that you can use that tell the Fera.ai app to only display notifications based on certain conditions. This means you can define the attributes of pages or locations on which the notifications get shown.
Triggers are settings that tell the widget you choose to display on your eCommerce site when a specific action by the user occurs. An example of a trigger is "when a page loads", whereas a condition is something like display when a shopper has more than $10 worth of items in their cart.
Why use triggers and conditions?
Conditions and triggers are important to how you want to display your notifications.
Maybe you want to use a certain widget but you don't want to test it on certain collections or say you have a discount, but you only want to offer it if customers have a certain number of items in their cart, or you only want to display a cart timer if the cart has certain popular products in it. You can do all of this and more with the conditions and triggers options in the 'Conditions' tabs of widgets.
Where do I find triggers and conditions?
This functionality is available within the widgets in the Fera.ai app. For example, the 'Timer in Cart/Checkout
' has a 'Trigger' section in the 'Conditions' tab.
In the widget 'Low Stock + Viewer Counter in Product Detail
' you'll see a few sections called 'Shopping Cart', 'Shopper Location', 'Shopper Journey' and 'Date/Time'.
What are the condition options?
In the widgets you can set many different condition options. They are under 4 different categories which are:
- Shopping Cart
- Shopper Location
- Shopper Journey
- Item Count
- Total weight
- Item name
- Variant/option IDs
- City name
- Is in a GDPR country?
- Is not in a GDPR country?
- Previously viewed product
- Previously viewed page
- Previously added to cart
- Previously purchased
- Previously clicked on element
- Day of week
- Day of month
What are the triggers?
- When page loads (default)
- OFF (or manually triggered)
- When shopper clicks on...
- When shopper mouse enters...
- When shopper mouse leaves...
- When shopper shows exit intent
- When shopper has been on the page for...
- When shopper has been on the site for...
- When shopper has been INACTIVE on the page for...
- When shopper time since first seen exceeds...
- No limit
- Once per 15 minutes per shopper
- Once per hour per shopper
- Once per day per shopper
- Once per week per shopper
- Once per month per shopper
- Once per year per shopper
You can set the conditions to be and/or. And
is an include option, or
is an instead option. So, for example, if you want to use a Promo Bar but only want it to display on weekends you would set a group rule under Date/Time. Set 'Day of Week'. Set it to is, and then enter Saturday. Press the '+ Condition' button. Then for the second line do the same thing but enter Sunday instead of Saturday. Make sure the condition is set to 'or'.
You can't use 'and' in this case because a day cannot simultaneously be Saturday and
Sunday. If you try to create rules that don't work you'll notice you will get a red error that won't let you save those conditions.
